Fractions Nerdle - division-focused math puzzles

What is the Fractions theme?

The Fractions theme gives you equations heavy on division. Most puzzles include at least one / operation, and many center around numbers with clean divisibility relationships: 48/6, 72/8, 56/7.

A Fractions theme guess: division-heavy equation with 48/6 pattern

It's unlimited 8-column play. All division in Nerdle must produce whole numbers. So you won't see 7/3 - every division operation in the puzzle has an integer result. Good practice for mental division.

Common division pairs to memorize

Nerdle only uses integer division, so only certain number pairs appear. Knowing these by heart speeds up your solving:

12÷2=6
12÷3=4
24÷6=4
24÷8=3
36÷4=9
36÷9=4
48÷6=8
48÷8=6
56÷7=8
63÷7=9
72÷8=9
81÷9=9

After a few rounds, you'll spot these pairs from the color feedback alone. If 4 and 8 both show correct or misplaced, think 48/8=6, 48/6=8, or 8*4=32. The division pairs narrow your options fast.

Fractions theme rules

Same grid as Classic with an emphasis on division-based equations.

Division-heavy equations

Expect at least one / in every equation. Some puzzles use division combined with other operators: 48/6-2=6 or 9+72/8=18.

Integer results only

Every division operation produces a whole number. No decimals, no remainders. This limits which number pairs appear but also gives you a constraint to reason with.

8-column standard grid

Same 8-column format as Classic. 6 guesses, standard color feedback.

All division must produce whole numbers. No decimals, no remainders. Leading zeros are not allowed.

Fractions theme tips

Know your division facts

The number pairs you see most: 12/2, 12/3, 12/4, 12/6, 24/3, 24/4, 24/6, 24/8, 36/4, 36/6, 36/9, 48/6, 48/8, 56/7, 56/8, 63/7, 63/9, 72/8, 72/9, 81/9. Recognize these fast and you'll solve puzzles faster.

Start with a divisible pair

Use an opener that tests a common division: 48/6-2=6 or 72/8+1=10. This immediately checks whether the puzzle's division uses similar number ranges.

Check if the result is the quotient

Many Fractions equations have the division result on the right side of the =. If you get a single-digit result showing green, look for a number pair on the left that divides cleanly to that number.

Fractions theme vs Classic Nerdle

Classic mode can use any combination of operators. The Fractions theme guarantees at least one division operation in every puzzle. If you want to practice mental division, this theme focuses the equations.

The numbers in Fractions tend to have clean divisibility relationships (multiples of 6, 8, 9). Classic equations are more random. Fractions is narrower but builds specific mental math skills faster.

Fractions theme FAQ

Does every Fractions puzzle include division?
Yes. Every equation in this theme includes at least one division operation.
Can Fractions equations have decimal results?
No. All division in Nerdle produces whole numbers. If 48/6=8, that's valid. Something like 7/3 can't appear.
Is the Fractions theme good for learning division?
It's decent mental math practice. You'll get faster at spotting divisible number pairs after a few rounds.
Is the Fractions theme unlimited?
Yes. No daily limit. Play as many rounds as you want.
